animate-mush:thetrevorproject:myfurby:The first thing they do at my university orientation is talk about preferred pronouns and why pronouns matter. Then they went around to EVERYONE and asked them which pronouns they wanted to be referred to as.This is the beginning of a revolution. I hope all schools do this in the future! It’s great to see folks talking about gender neutral pronouns and taking the extra step to educate others about pronoun options!Nice. And also DO YOU SEE THAT GENDER/CASE ALLOCATION ACROSS COORDINATE STRUCTURES problem there?? :D :D :DBecause I find the sentence on the board super bad and it’s not because of the them it’s because of the and. It is SUPER hard to throw pronouns into a coordinate structure. Nobody is really sure why.Maybe it would be better with an overt antecedant. Hmm. Curious. Yeah I think it would be.Fun fact: there is no good way to possessivize the coordination of a name and a pronoun in English. Actually none. They all suck. (ooh, and that’s that use of actually I was talking about a couple days ago).Sorry I’m totally distracting from the point here. This is super great news. Well done these people.Hehe -- source link
