thatoddtrumpetgirl:This is my aesthetic.Imagine it: it’s 10PM, you’re wearing a muted brown trench coat and a black fedora, a cocktail dress and heeled booties underneath (or a suit and really nice dress shoes) underneath, red lipstick, red nail polish and winged eyeliner, instrument case in hand. You just walked out of a smokey jazz club after playing a gig. You walk outside and flag down a taxi to take you back to your studio apartment, which is dusty since you have better things to do than dust. There’s sheet music everywhere. Piles beside your bed, piles on the baby grand piano which takes up the majority of your apartment space but you insisted on buying one from craigslist anyways, piles on the coffee table with your favorite mug still half full of your favorite coffee from this morning. You undress and get ready for bed, happy from the day before and excited for what tomorrow will bring, you sit on your bed in your silky, fancy, pajamas and look out the window… The rain falls over the city and the lights below. You turn off your light and go to sleep. This is why one of my goals is to have a jazz career in NYC one day, because I love the rainy day jazz aesthetic. -- source link
