OK SO.A lot of people rebloged the photos of my little game room. A lot of people had nice things to say but a lot of people had questions and stupid comments. So here’s an updated post with more parts of my house included.Green Room = A spare bedroom where I have a lot of my games. I mostly collect retro games. I’d say that about 5% of these games originally belonged to my fiance. I also have my computer in the other corner. I have my own business, so this is technically my office. lolBasement = My fiance has his games down there. This is where the newer stuff, like the Xbox One and Ps4 live. There’s also a dedicated spot to play DDR (not pictured cause it’s not that exciting). We also have a retail PS3 interactive display because we are actually insane. It’s so heavy. But we just needed to have it because we are huge nerds. It’s not a gross basement, it’s clean and actually pretty roomy down there.Attic = I’d say we have at least 100 more games just hanging out up there. I have tried to keep cords and controllers organized up there too, but it’s not very well sorted out. Basically where the games go if they are not worthy of going in the Green Room. There’s just not enough room down there. Are you a giant fat ugly nerd virgin?Well, that’s rude. I’m a 26 year old lady. I’m engaged to a guy who let me borrow Resident Evil 4 over 8 years ago. I still haven’t given it back.We bought this house a couple years ago. We live in upstate NY and it’s cheaper than renting. I am an illustrator and he’s the manager of a Gamestop. Are you rich? No. I’ve been collecting since I was like 5. I also worked at Gamestop while I was in college for 4 years, so I was able to grab a lot of stuff for stupid cheap/free. Those gameboy colors were less than $10 each. I’ve gotten a ton of stuff from people that tried to trade in sega/nintendo/atari games and left them there when we found out that the store wouldn’t take them in trade. This is total junk if you don’t care about this stuff, so I’ve gotten entire boxes of treasure for $10. You just have to know where to look and be lucky. But yeah, I have spent a lot of money on games in my lifetime, for sure. Can I come over and play/move in?You can’t move in but you can play games with me as long as you put them back u_uWhat’s with the Galaga cabinet? Is that the thing from Namco High?Galaga is an old arcade game from 1981. I grew up playing it and made my own cabinet. Details can be found here. Why do you have a shitty TV?It can be difficult to hook up old games to newer Tvs. Widescreen Tvs also stretch out the screen. I don’t use that TV for new games, come on.Why do you have multiple systems and so many Gameboys?I wanted all of the Gameboy Colors …. because I just wanted them? They were cheap. Again, a lot of the multiple systems were abandoned or free. Or friends just know that I like this stuff and give it to me. I literally have about 8 or 9 xbox 360’s. I used to get the red ringed ones and repair them. I just can’t resist taking home cheap or free games.Favorites?NES and PS1. FF7, Mario 3, Castlevania SOTN, Galaga, DDR, Kid Chameleon, Iron Sword. -- source link
