a-gnosis:Where did Kerberos come from? Well, according to Hesiod he was one of the monstrous offspring born by Echidna and the storm-giant Typhon (or Typhoeus). Some of his siblings include the Hydra and the Chimera.Typhon was the last great threat to the Olympian gods. Hesiod describes Zeus’s victory over Typhon as an easy one, but another story is told by Pseudo-Apollodorus. There all the Olympians were struck by terror at the sight of Typhon, and fled to Egypt. Only Zeus tried to fight the giant (and sometimes Athena, too, I think), but Typhon captured him and cut out the sinews from Zeus’s hands and feet. Things could have ended very badly if not Hermes and Aigipan (a goat-god sometimes seen as the same as Pan) stole back the sinews and somehow succeeded in replanting them in Zeus. Then Zeus finally defeated Typhon and imprisoned him either in Tartaros or under Mount Etna in Sicily.…As can be seen in my comic Nekyia, Tisiphone seems to be a bit more fond of Kerberos than her sisters. -- source link
