They gifted great art and philosophy to the world in their time, but their bloodthirsty exploits are also of great renown, as shown in these two translations from the 1600s. Here we have some scenes from the Trojan War: Diomedes hurling a rock at Aeneas after shattering Pandarus’ jaw with a spear and the Greeks charging the walls of Troy.
