The Apache Knuckleduster/Revolver,One of the stranger firearms produced in history, the Apache Knuckleduster was the creation of Belgian gunmaker Louis Dolne. It was named after “The Apaches”, a particularly notorious Paris street gang. The strange pistol featured everything needed in a down and dirty back alley Paris streetfight. The main weapon was a six shot pinfire pepperbox revolver which used a 7mm cartridge. Because of its complete lack of a barrel or sights the pistol had very limited range and accuracy, and was made for close up fighting. The foldout handle also doubled as a handy set of brass knuckles for some good old hand to hand brawling. Finally the pistol was completed with a mean looking fold out dagger for some stabbing action. Best of all the handy death device folds up into a compact object that can easily be carried in any pocket. Production began in 1869 and ended around 1900. Today they are no longer purchased for protection against the mean streets of Victorian Era Europe, but instead highly sought after by historians and antiques collectors. Depending on date and condition they can sell for anywhere from $2000 - $7,000. -- source link
