#MonsterSuitMonday I’ve been working as a volunteer performer at a new Downtown Edmonton-based Haunted Attraction (Deadmontonhouse.com) as Langren the Werewolf (shown above) for a few nights now. It’s been a very tiring experience (in a good way) and my voice is still not quite back (literally growling at people for over 6 hours a night, 3 nights in a row, will make you lose your voice, too!). But, seeing people actually fall down in fear when I scare them makes it all worth it! The haunt is surprisingly good for a first year event and I have been really impressed by the level of detail, the quality of the sets/props and the skill of the volunteers performers. The venue is stellar, too… It’s an older warehouse-type building with wood floors. It’s huge & they’ve used the space very well making it one of the longest mazes I’ve seen in a haunt. (Under normal conditions, it can take 12-15 minutes to walk through. Compare that to the Universal Halloween Horror Nights where each maze only took a few minutes.) If you are in the Edmonton area, I highly recommend checking it out, but come early… Later in the night, the wait to get in is about 90-120 minutes long and this is because the operators insist and NOT running “a conga line” so that the experience is good for all guests. (I applaud them for this.) Deadmonton House has a few more dates left this season: Thursday October 30 (I’ll be there for that night), Friday October 31, Saturday November 1 (I might be there that night, too) and a special “flashlight only experience” on Sunday November 2 (which I will be at). Doors open at 7pm each night, but again, COME EARLY! -- source link
