katy-l-wood: anotherdayforchaosfay:katy-l-wood: They…they QUILTED a lenticular print. I’m gonna see about contacting them to learn how to do this. Based on how lenticular prints work, I’m assuming they just quilted square tubes with a different slice of the image on each side. This creates the illusion that the image is changing as you move, because you’re looking at a different side depending on where you stand in relation to it. I’m thinking the hardest part would be getting the seams exactly right so that everything lines up properly between the slices. But that’s just based off my knowledge of lenticular art, I don’t know hardly anything about quilting so there may be more to it than that. This is too good, the fact that the frame is quilted as well is just infuriatingly good. I think the effect is created by sewing strips with motive A on one side and motive C on the other and then attatching them so they’re raised over spacers which would be made out of strips of motive B.Seen from the top or bottom I think the profile of the central panel would look like this if that explains it better: I_I_I_I_I_I -- source link
