Bless you anon <3Again regarding the criticism thing, I think most of it is due to Gene doing things that don’t help the business, and I think “Best Burger” was really a turning point, both for Bob and Gene. Gene got to realize why his behaviour and personality could sometimes be detrimental to the family business (something he usually ignored before whenever Bob pointed it out) and Bob… Probably didn’t feel all that good hearing his son tell him “I’m sorry I screw up all the time”, and therefore went out of his way to tell him he loves him the way he is.Later episodes like L’il Hard Dad even got Bob to realize that he himself could even learn from Gene as well, something he probably wasn’t even aware of before. So I think some of the progress that happened in S5 (which I will forever call the “Geneseason”) really helped cement the couple of cracks that existed in a relationship that was already pretty solid. Also yes. I love how much Bob loves all of his kids, and how overtly Gene loves his family. These are such pure traits. TwT -- source link
