There was an epidemic in one of the remote research stations. Staff had reported discomfort and bloating for a while now and put it down to the reconstituted food… A week down the line and I’m going through the latest batch of data from the station. Dozens of pictures from the 26 members of staff at the station, recording their growth, notes attached reporting heightened discomfort, concerns that they might burst if they have to wait much longer for an antidote. I keep telling them we’re working on it. In reality, we’ve already worked it out but I don’t have the heart to tell them their medical facilities won’t be enough to produce the cure and a shipment won’t reach them for another week… Just look at the size of those poor girls already. I might as well have just sent a cleanup crew.There’s no time to dwell on that though, I’m more concerned about the four members of staff who left the research station just before quarantine was enacted… -- source link
