Besides this gorgeous ruin of a priory, there are many Early English style buildings and a fabulous Guildhall in Much Wenlock, which is situated on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth. Dr William Penny Brooks set up the Shropshire Games and carried on to become a founding father of the modern Olympian games. The London 2012 Summer Olympics mascot, Wenlock, is named after this town.
