Not making empty promises that ‘everything will be alright’ or even saying the dreaded ’stick and stones’ rhyme or even ’kids are cruel’. No. Honest to God, true love is always being on your side. True love is doing whatever to show the world that if you mess with my sibling, you mess with me. True love is staying by your side no matter what the world throws at you and yelling “IS THAT ALL YOU GOT?!”. And that is exactly what Harper and Cullen share. You can even see in that second-to-last panel; Harper’s snarling. They’re walking down the school hallway and she’s daring someone to say something. And that protective hand on his back in the last panel. When I see these two, I don’t see ‘fire-forged children who banded together in the wake of their father’s absence’. I see two real sibling that love each other more than life. I see myself and my own older sister in Harper and Cullen. I know what it’s like to be the both of them. And it makes me really happy to see this intense, healthy relationship between siblings that happens in real life and is realistic. -- source link
