I wonder how Gon found out, or if she just had a change of heart and told him. I wonder how long ago that was (he is only twelve, it can’t have been that long). It does explain the hero-worship and lack of resentment towards his father, though, I mean aside from the fact that Gon is just an optimistic person who likes to assume the best about people. But you add to that that in a way to his mind his father came back from the dead, and of course he’d be eager to pursue him, more willing to write off his abandonment. He went from having no father to having a father. That doesn’t feel like being abandoned, that feels like being found. Not only was Mito right to worry that he might pursue his father, she may have inadvertently made it worse by initially lying. -- source link
