Statue of King NeferefreThe statue depicts King Neferefre sitting on his throne. He wears a short wig in the shape of a skullcap. A uraeus, or royal cobra, probably made of gold, adorned once his forehead. His features are very finely carved and the face still has traces of the black color of the cosmetic eye lines, the eyebrows, and the mustache. His right arm is folded on his chest and he holds a scepter. Although many parts of the statue are lost, such as the left arm, the kilt, and a large part of the legs, it is considered to be a very fine statue.Painted limestone. Old Kingdom, 5th Dynasty, ca. 2494-2345 BC. Now in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. JE 98171 -- source link
