Benedict’s posture is one of his many perfections.During part of this event, he was speaking while sitting in this chair, perfectly straight from his hips to the top of his head; meanwhile his legs were idly swiveling his chair around. If I were sitting like this I would feel really stiff, but he seems relaxed and alert. He reminds me of a prima donna ballerina in that way..My guess is that the posture comes from meditating (he says he meditates quite frequently). In most forms of meditation you are suppose to sit straight while also being relaxed. If you start out meditating that is really diffcult but you get used to it and it effects your overall posture. -- source link
