THE BODY IN THE LIBRARY (1942)by Agatha ChristieSynopsis: It’s seven in the morning. The Bantrys wake to find the body of a young woman in their library. She is wearing an evening dress and heavy makeup, which is now smeared across her cheeks. But who is she? How did she get there? And what is the connection with another dead girl, whose charred remains are later discovered in an abandoned quarry? The respectable Bantrys invite Miss Marple into their home to investigate. Amid rumors of scandal, she baits a clever trap to catch a ruthless killer. My review: One more crime mystery book with the sweet mis Marple, that despite having a smaller role in the story, than usual, her cleverness will solve the case. The dead body of a young lady is found in the library of a married couple, that has no idea how that happened. They immediately call the police and they face a really strange murder case. In this small village people start talking and blaming mister Bantry, so his wife calls a good friend of hers, who has an experience in such situations, miss Marple. So, when the police identify the body and possible suspects starts showing, all the evidence leads to hotel Majestic. Jane Marple visits the place and starts uncovering secrets and joins forces with the police. When a second murder takes place, her theories become stronger and then finally true. I really enjoyed this one, Agatha writes an amazing story full of twists, that you can’t miss.4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ -- source link
