ENDLESS NIGHT (1967)by Agatha ChristieSynopsis: Gipsy’s Acre was a truly beautiful upland site with views out to sea – and in Michael Rogers it stirred a child-like fantasy. There, amongst the dark fir trees, he planned to build a house, find a girl and live happily ever after. Yet, as he left the village, a shadow of menace hung over the land. For this was the place where accidents happened. Perhaps Michael should have heeded the locals’ warnings: ‘There’s no luck for them as meddles with Gipsy’s Acre.’ Michael Rogers is a man who is about to learn the true meaning of the old saying ‘In my end is my beginning.’ My review: I really liked this mystery book despite being a little bit different from the other Agatha’s novels. It was litteraly an endless night for me because I read it in one night. It has three parts, the first two have a slow pace, Michael narrates his life journey and then the moment he meets the girl of his dreams and start a new life together as he struggles to be a part of her world. The home of their dreams is being haunted by superstitons of the people living in the area that bad accidents happen when someone lives there. And when they moved there. strange things started happening… The last part of the book is full of twists and dark secrets and Agatha gives us a shocking ending, that reminded me the ending of a good psychological thriller.4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ -- source link
