Asbury Chapel, Page County, Ole Virginny, 2020. The chapel (now renamed Asbury United Methodist Church) was built in 1848 (subsequently rebuilt using original materials) to serve a congregation founded by Methodist Bishop Asbury, responsible for growth of that cult in the Shenandoah Valley region. In a narrow valley between two ridges, its parishioners assisted Confederate Troops attempting to slide past Union troops and drive north to Front Royal in the War of Southern Aggression to Maintain Slavery (aka Civil War). During that period it was used as a hospital, and when it was dismantled and then rebuilt, blood stained planks were found. -- source link
