capdou:I’VE JUST VOTED FOR THE INDEPENDENCE OF CATALONIA in hopes of living in a freer, more democratic and prosperous country. We’ve been forbidden to vote, but we won’t back off for that very same reason. It’s the 21th century. As anyone, we have the right to decide our own future and that’s exactly what we’re doing today, whatever the Government of Spain says.Here, I’m voting for my grandparents who had to live in fear under Franco’s dictatorship for so many years and would’ve voted yes without blinking if they had the chance. I’m voting for my future sons and daughters because I want them to have as many rights as any other citizen of the world. And I’m voting for myself, because I want the catalan language to not be despised or forbidden or eliminated. Because I wish to be in a much more democratic system than the Spanish one, I want corruption to be punished and reduced, I want to be able to make our own decisions…In conclusion, I want a whole new country which is really not possible within the borders of Spain.
