By being over policed we are in constant danger of being disenfranchised. Reminds me of the 3/5 rule I was telling people at work about this and how prisons tend to be located (at least where we live) in predominantly rural and white areas. How those communities benefit from the prisons there, in many ways but mainly politically and financially but can’t vote. They asked, “how does that even make sense?” and I was like “it doesn’t”. -- source link
