Repost via: African Beauty Saru“So glad to play my part in this movement and to help raise awareness. A lot of people don’t know much about both movements (this too was me, until I educated myself). Some things need to be talked about, and the reason I talked about my experience on ‪#‎unfairandlovely‬ is because there are young impressionable girls and boys out there who may feel they are alone. It is so easy to base your self worth on how you look, particularly when you are younger and may not necessarily know any better - especially when most of the women/men you see in the media aren’t like you (when it comes to your skin shade, facial features, body shape etc) or your environment has conditioned you to think that way. I don’t want any more people to go through what I and many others have gone through. This movement - the photos and experiences - should hopefully show that: YOU ARE ENOUGH, WE are enough, you are NOT ALONE, and most importantly we are ALL BEAUTIFUL. Our uniqueness and everything that contributes to that is what makes us who we are.
