amarielah:hckleinman:startoursflight1401:marcusfolignos:“But I have to sort this out on my own, without the Council, and without you.”― Ahsoka Tano to her master Anakin Skywalker#Ugh this parallel is my favorite in all of star wars #two very different ways of leaving the jedi order #going down the steps and going up the steps #also the first gif is a huge component of the second gif #because anakin is a disaster Also notice the sunsetting in the first gif, it’s the beginning of a long dark nightHaving watched Clone Wars in its entirety, I have to say this parallel imagery had to be intentional. The makers of that show knew what they were doing. I’m happy that the show is an anchor in the new Star Wars continuity and Ahsoka is a big part of why. He abandonment of the order played a huge part in Anakin’s fall in a way that’s more plausible than the events of Episodes II and III alone. It feels like a missing piece of the puzzle. It makes the prequel story more complete. Just because Ahsoka isn’t mentioned in Episode III doesn’t mean that she doesn’t improve that film on a rewatch with an acceptance of her role in canon. The Jedi Order failing Ahsoka was the severing of his last tie to the order itself. He may have had loyalty to Obi-Wan as a person, but he’s ties to the order were severed when Ahsoka walked away. I look forward to seeing her in Rebels and possibly Episode VII. And even her lack of mention is explained subtly by The Lost Missions and the story reels of the Utapua arc. The Council never bring up Ahsoka because things are strained enough between them and Anakin without consciously reminding him of how they almost got her killed. And Obi-Wan doesn’t bring it up because they’ve had The Uncomfortable Conversation once and that’s plenty for Obi-Wan “how do I deal with emotions” Kenobi. And of course, Padme and Anakin are pretty much done with communicating in a meaningful way by the time RotS rolls around. -- source link
