Do the work even if it seems thankless and pointless. Seize the moment. Take the shot. Make the call. Maybe you’d rather have a cocktail and a lobotomy; but answer the stupidity with the best you have in you anyway.Could Maria guarantee that what replaced the organisation she took down would be better? No. No, she could not. Would it have been her first choice considering her resistance to the Avengers at the start? Not even close. But she took down HYDRA because it was using S.H.I.E.L.D as a hat and fuck that for an undercover takeover!Maybe it doesn’t feel like what you’re voting for is what you really want. That’s fair. I’m pretty sure the last thing Maria wanted to do is take down an organisation that sheltered her and allowed her to do something meaningful in protecting the world. But she did, because it wasn’t in her nature to watch what she represented become corrupted and not even attempt to take it down.Is it in your nature to watch the corruption of your democracy and do nothing? Maybe it is? Some men just want to watch the world burn, as said Alfred Pennyworth of the Joker. (And, truly, some men can afford to just watch the world burn.)But if it’s not?Vote.
