Heck, I’ve missed you.I’m emerging from a month of prescribed rest (doctor’s orders) void of screens, reading, podcasts, minimal movement and mental stimulus all inspired by an idiopathic neurological explosion that concluded in a severe concussion. My, that was colorful. It has been an extremely challenging four months and counting, but truly grateful to be on this side of things. The beginning. Cue the gift of the shifting paradigm - sometimes the events that land so loudly lift the most delicate veils. I continue to relearn what I know, inverting old gear shifts, listening intently for what’s new. This time with more urgency, this time at a much slower pace. This medical emergency has been quite a teacher - old synapses cease to fire, and oddly, there is relief in this opera of slowing down. It offers new pathways to encounter what I see, highlighting refrain and disabling those antiquated mind reflexes with one of the biggest take aways; how well do I continue to learn? I’ve had fresh opportunities to practice discernment, not only with prioritizing the occupation and relationship to time, but also on the reflection of value. I’ve come to realize how fragile time and space are and how this light box is a portal to you. Connection is a privilege. At least I think so. When you open, click and read these posts it lands, significantly. Your response to “ A Monument To Hands” was overwhelmingly beautiful. Thank you for the cards, emails, shout outs, and the time that you spent reading. In the torrent of online stimuli, it means so much that you showed up. My experience with you has also been a teacher - that collective hopefulness is indeed a healing thing. Your participation not only lifted my spirits, but sharpened my appreciation for your support, past and present. You are exuberant and curious, thank you. I prize that we are invested in the practice of building, creating, re-inventing and learning. And with that, I am holding space for new conversations with you.
