nihongo-lessons-blog: The conjunction “but” in Japanese is usually said as “けど” (kedo). This is usually when linking two parts of a sentence together. Ex: 眠いだけどまだ起きてる (I’m sleepy but I’m still awake/ Though I’m sleepy, I’m still awake) そうですけど気にしない (That’s true but I don’t care/ Though that’s true, I don’t care) If it’s at the end, it usually suggests that the sentence is incomplete or adding to a previous sentence; not just by itself. Ex: そうですけど… (That’s true, but…) 眠いだ。まだ起きてるけどね！ (I’m sleepy. Even though I’m still awake!)
