gurrrl-interrupted: Black Children look into a ‘White Only’ Park in 1956 “Outside Looking In” Photographed by Gordon Parks for Life Magazine I studied the black history in my last year of school and it was honestly the most interesting thing I’ve ever learnt at school. I wrote over 10 essays on the Civil Rights Movement, specifically on Martin Luther King and the deep south. I don’t know why I’m so interested in it, maybe because I can’t actually wrap my head around it, like I can’t actually understand or find a way to relate to racists. I can’t understand how 60 years ago or even today, someone can look at this picture and think it was okay.If I could have some sort of career that allowed me to study black history for the rest of my life I would. But thats pretty much impossible living in Scotland. -- source link
