The Ill-Made Knight, originally by Jian Guo, a Chinese cover artist whose work I adore. This piece, fantastic as it is, isn’t much like his usual style, which tends to resemble a stained-glass window more than anything else I can think of. It’s really beautiful, and often very intricate - his space pictures are really breathtaking. Here’s a cover he did for Le Morte that’s much more illustrative (no pun intended) of his usual work. You can see that I still have some problems with the hands. Fingers are so fiddly, aren’t they? The shading on the cloak begins to look natural, although there’s still room for improvement. The armour came out fairly well, I thought. For the most part, the banner, too; although I don’t quite like it - I don’t know what, but there’s something off about it. -- source link
