”A woman’s place is the mosque.I have never walked into a mosque in Cairo during a Ramadan night except that I found the women’s section (many of the times the same hall as the men’s except when the space doesn’t allow) overflowing with women praying on the stairs and outdoor. They also hold tahajud and itikaf for women.A place to worship, connect, and find community. A place for kids to run and play. A place for organizing and building societies. This is the beauty I grew up with in Cairo!Ramadan nights are always special in Cairo.” -Hassnaa Hassan -- source link
