The irony of this travesty is that she is the one who initially called the police. Charleena Lyles called the police to report a suspected burglary. When police arrived, they ended up shooting her with at least 1 of her children inside her home. Police are saying Charleena Lyles “confronted” them with a knife. Her relatives are saying she had the knife to protect herself from possible intruders to her home. Ms. Lyles was also pregnant when she was murdered by police. Charleena’s relatives are asking how a petite, pregnant Woman, could be viewed as a dire threat by police.
