I’ve already introduced u guys to the korean subway so this time it’s going to be the bus! Like in New York, we have our version of metro card called 교통카드(gyo-tong card) meaning transportation card. The last image (blue box thing) is in a subway station where you can buy/recharge your 교통카드 and most of adults or whomever that can carry credit card has signed up for the 교통카드 on your credit card so all you have to do is, as you can see in the second image, tap on it with your card and it’ll go beep* indicating you’ve been charged. And when you have to switch into a different numbered bus or into a subway, you tap on the machine again right before you exit the bus, and when you do transfer to other buses/subway it gives you a discount so you only have to pay ranging from 10cents to 50cents or maybe a dollar (never been that far) depending on the distance you travel in the subway. Buses I think are usually 20-30cents? 200-300won? The Third image is a bus stop, and a lot (not all) of the bus stops have some sort of indication of where the buses are. This one is more of a high tech one, where you click (touch screen) your bus number and it tells you how far/how long till it’ll arrive at your current stop. p.s. you can pay cash in the buses but u have to use the 교통카드 or ur credit card w/ the 교통카드 application install on your credit card for the subways -- source link
