You know there is other varieties of potatoes to grow they the ones bred specifically for lays potato chips?hows that boot tasteIf anyone every tries to lecture me on why copyrighted plants are a good thing I will kick them in the throat these predatory companies - pepsi, coca cola, mcdonalds, monsanto, all of them - will target ANY grower for growing their patented crops, even accidentally.the thing about seeds is that they don’t always stay in the fields they’re planted in. the wind can blow them away. rain can wash them away. animals can eat them in one field and shit them out in the other. mega corporations can and will sue small growers out of their land and livelihood even if just a few stray patented seeds make their way into their fields without prior approval, intentionally or otherwise.if they catch a farmer growing their crops, intentionally or accidentally, they will extract their “fee” by any means necessary. their monopolies aren’t just built on acquisitions and mergers. they cannibalize the smallest and poorest growers, too.^ and this isn’t just a what-if, this has happened before and the government supported the corporation over the farmer.Don’t forget how Coca-Cola destroyed small farmers in India by draining all of the water in the wells farmers use, causing a food and water shortage in these areas. Causing areas that were not struggling to now be struggling.Coca-Cola in India accused of leaving farms parched and land poisoned#eattherich -- source link
