‘Katana ZERO’: The Movie[Warning: Contains plot spoilers for ‘Katana Zero’]This is the first piece of art I ever made for the game (not counting the game’s logo), and by far my favorite. I’d been drawing tiny pixel sprites before this, so I wanted to go all-out with a poster in the style of 1970′s action movies: lots of actor mugshots, lots of weapons, and zero context. Graphic designers might hate it, but I always admired those types of bombastic visuals compared to the minimalist or symbolic movie posters of today. The neon blue and pink shading on Zero correspond to how V and Snow reflect two sides of himself, as well as indicating that he’s high on Chronos and thus unable to differentiate the difference between the past, present, and future–hence why the little girl is present. Thanks to @askiisoft for giving me lots of creative liberty on this one; all I had as reference material was a few Steam trading cards (props to @whoisnassstya for those). While there were plenty more characters I would have liked to fit in there, this was meant to be readable on a T-shirt from a distance.UPDATE: It has come to my attention that the little girl in Zero’s building might in fact be an actual character. My bad…I drew this based on a early development build of the game where there was no note in Zero’s apartment (you couldn’t even go in) nor any post-credits scenes, so everything pointed to her being a hallucination from Zero’s dreams/flashbacks. -- source link
