whereimfeminine:yall i hate to be this person and add onto a post, i really do, but what’s going on in texas is REALLY dangerous right now– the temperature is well below freezing, the infrastructure is not equipped to handle this weather well, people don’t know how to drive in the snow, and there are massive power outages that residents are being told are unlikely to be resolved within the day. this is particularly dangerous for the most vulnerable populations in texas who have to go to work no matter what, who don’t have homes, whose houses have no real insulation (and frankly will be last priority for getting power back), etc. these types of false equivalencies aren’t useful and just minimize people’s suffering. texas should be shut down right now (and probably needs emergency relief), and should have been shut down for the pandemic. -- source link
