sagansense:It seems probable that dark matter and dark energy are examples of black bodies influencing the cosmos. Right? Although they’re referenced in thought experiments, a black body is slang for an object that completely absorbs all frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. We’ve used them to determine the temperature of stars and the greenhouse effect, so couldn’t this be applied to dark matter/energy, since it’s interacting on the universe, yet unseen to us, detected only be inference? As a black body gets hotter, it emits higher frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. The radiation is initially invisible, but beyond a few hundred degrees C, it appears red, yellow, etc. through the spectrum. Example: dimming and brightening a light bulb.Since the WMAP/COBE results reveal how dispersed radiation is a la the Big Bang, couldn’t dark matter/energy be a black body acting on the universe via different interactions with space time, existing matter, a vacuum, varying vectors of radiation dispersion, or photons? (take your pick, if not all) Anyone? ?? Bueller? -- source link
