A bouquet for Alyosha Karamazov! (Forgive me if this one’s not as good at the Patroclus one, I haven’t read the Brothers Karamazov for a few years now.)The orange tree represents generosity, and the mimosa plant is for sensitivity or gentleness. The passion flower is a common symbol of Christianity and more generally faith and belief in the language of flowers. Lilies are for sweetness, for purity, for the kind and gentle things about people, and a marsh mallow flower represents kindness. Field lilacs are for humility and the lotus represents a pure spirit and a sort of humanity. Blue violets are for faithfulness. Sultan lilacs are for forgiveness - I forgive you, literally. Lunaria is for honesty, which is its common name. -- source link
