odys-seus:Marble statue of Odysseus, from the Antikythera shipwreck, Late Hellenistic period, circa 100 BC (Accession No. 5745). “Statue of Odysseus, made of parian marble. It was found on the Antikythera shipwreck. The Homeric hero Odysseus is depicted striding to his right, with his head turned in the opposite direction. He wears a short chiton and a himation, with a pilos on his head. The statue is possibly from a group depicting the seizure of the Palladion during the Siege of Troy by the Achaeans.” Text from the National Archaeological Museum, Athens. -- source link
