So talented was he that people were willing to look the other way on some of his… less savory… traits. See, in addition to his many other “charming” habits such as yelling at wait staff and showing up to important church events intoxicated, Hyden had always had an interest in magic quite a few shades darker than what the church allowed. But when it was discovered that he was working with a certain individual named Sullivan on research that was far, far outside the church’s parameters… well, that was something that couldn’t be swept under the rug.Hyden was excommunicated and branded a heretic, though not before he was able to make off with all his research and several of the church’s more valuable magical artifacts. He disappeared into the desert and has seemingly been in hiding ever since.
