badbreedersexposed:A chart showing the changes in the boxers’ muzzle over time. Once you pass 1956, the changes to a shorter, upturned muzzle happen in such a short time span. Boxers used to be used for boar hunting and fighting. The modern boxer, due to his upturned brachy face and extreme overbite, is no longer suitable for the job he was created for. Modern boar hunters now use pitbulls and dogos instead as they are more fit for the job. Besides the drastic change in skull structure, the boxer is one of the breeds most plagued with cancer, epilepsy and kidney failure due to poor breeding. Some “Throw Back” Boxers do exist, who have a muzzle closer to structure of their working ancestors. These are usually bred by people who aim for a healthier dog and one that can hunt game. -- source link
