Statue of Maize (Corn) and Strawberries, Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, 2000.The corn cob is about 2 meters long and a meter high! When the British ruled Malaysia, the Cameron Highlands, ranging from about 1000 to 2000 meters above sea level, were a popular resort because of cool temperatures and a climate that allowed temperate zone crops like strawberries to thrive. The area still produces strawberries and is a very popular resort for people from the hot and humid tropical lowlands nearby, though one of the key draws is legalized gambling in otherwise rather puritanical Malaysia. -- source link
