So we are hosting our on-line Greyhound Awareness Month Auction or GAMA! Bidding opened at noon today and will close on Monday, November 9th, 2020, at 9:00 pm central time.GAMA features 29 greyhound themed figurines and other collectibles such as the pictured wire and paper mache hound by Steve Wirtz, a matted print of Bless the Patron Saints of Animals signed by April Murphy and a gorgeous white reclining porcelain hound with jeweled collar by Lenox. Click here to see all of the items and to place your bids.GAMA comes just in time to help you get an early start on your holiday shopping and to help Franco and Medina, who joined the GALT family from a cruelty seizure in Oklahoma last week. They were found with five other dogs who had died from starvation and dehydration and a third survivor adopted already by the family of one of the vets who cared for them. We named Franco and Medina after the officer who found and rescued them, Medina Franco. Medina is currently receiving treatment for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Franco has a suspected parasitic fungus on his face. The money raised by GAMA will also go to help the eight retired racers who joined us this week from Palm Beach, Florida!
