May 2016When you first strip off your clothes and put bare skin into a mountain creek the cold is painful - we have become so unused to any discomfort so that we are not even capable of adjusting to it. Our instinct is to back away and give up on the the natural world. If you stick with it though, you soon adjust and become willing to give more and more of yourself to the water, until finally you are submerged and can be cleansed and forget to wince.
