sussexbound:sedxctively-dedxctive:GUYS SOMEONE SENT ME THIS PHOTO OF THE DELETED SCENEWhen I look at this I see a body laid out for burial, and it reinforces the christ-like themes we saw throughout season. It ties back to the scene in TEH, where Sherlock was spread out in the prison, being tortured, in a matter very like Christ on the Cross. In the original image of this post, we have Sherlock laid out almost like he is being prepared for burial, surrounded by flowers. Notice the Easter Lilies (a symbol of Christ’s resurrection from the dead), Magnussen stroking his hand like someone washing a corpse. This reinforces the fact that the shot from Mary’s gun really did kill him. It wasn’t surgery. He died. But, as the lilies here testify, he rose again.Later in the episode Sherlock breaks out of this hospital, John and Lestrade, enter the dark room (the tomb) and find it empty, the window thrown wide open, no Sherlock in sight.John: Oh Jesus!Oh Jesus, indeed! This fucking fandom, man. True Sherlockians! -- source link
