A. W. Faber, gilded dip pen with mother-of-pearl extension, 1910. Via cas1996.deAlready in the second half of the 18th century the Faber dynasty from Nuremberg in Germany made lead pencils. With the invention of the metal quill they started to produce high class fountain pens.1884 they launched the Faber house in Berlin, a shop on the Friedrichstrasse.
