And, in fact, you might gain weight. And, in fact, as Geoffrey Miller probably should know, stress increases the unhealthy, dangerous kind of weight gain (read some Sapolsky motherfricker). It is possible to study obsessively and remain healthy, but I do not think 20-somethings, even PhD candidates, put their health first, usually (to generalize)(but I mean you’re an evo psych dude so I’m p sure you’re comfortable with questionable generalizations).Basically I am (at the risk of tooting my own horn) very motivated academically, almost pathologically so. My willpower is an unstoppable, annoying force. And, due to that willpower, and my studying ceaselessly at a detriment to my personal health, I gained like ten pounds over finals week. My GPA and weight are directly proportional.Priorities, Geoffrey.If someone is dedicated enough to reach PhD level, that is their priority, and to evaluate their aptitude based on weight is just silly!At least he apologized.
