pariztexas:Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) dir. Robert Zemeckis i hope you don’t mind if i nerd out on this post about who framed roger rabbit because HOLY HELLso for starters this movie is beautifully animated, to this day it stands up as a gorgeous movie. Literally every single animator in the business who wasn’t already on something else was called for this project. also WB and Disney also said that there characters must share equal screen time so that’s why bugs and mickey appear together and donald and daffy appear togetherAlso jessica rabbit’s often misquoted and misappropriated line “i’m not bad i’m just drawn that way” refers to the misogyny she has faced by both humans and toons alike and is a very powerful statement regarding a toon’s “choice” of sex appealthe author of the original who framed roger rabbit novel LOVED the movie so much he said it was cannon and his original book? ALL A DREAM This movie also makes reference to a pretty historic interstate that started in california and was supposed to go all the way to New york…. but to do so it would have to tear down a lower income neighborhood filled with people of color and there was a whole debacle over that -- source link
