She had known all day that the punishment was inevitable. It had been her own fault and she knew that the forthcoming few minutes over his lap would be no more than she deserved. Even so she still shuddered anxiously when she saw him holding the dreadful strap. She hoped that he wouldn’t pull her school knickers down this time. But even if he left her knickers up they wouldn’t offer much protection. This was going to hurt. She clutched at her blue-checked school dress and waited.
