Salted Caramel Buttercream FrostingIngredients:¼ cup granulated sugar2 tbsp water¼ cup heavy cream1 tsp vanilla extract2 sticks salted butter½ tsp sea salt1 ½ cups powdered sugarInstructions:In a saucepan, stir together sugar and water, and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Cook without stirring until the mixture turns a deep amber colour. Remove from heat and slowly add in cream and vanilla, stirring until very smooth. Let caramel cool for about 20 minutes until it’s just barely warm and still pourable.In a mixer with the paddle attachment, beat butter and salt together until light and fluffy. Reduce speed and add powdered sugar. Mix until thoroughly combined.Add the caramel. Beat on medium high speed until light and completely mixed. -- source link
