blackoutkick: curas-the-kingslayer: roulette-kneebasha: everythingsahunterweapon: brijinsa: taranzhus: lornacrowleys: fuzzyblueveggies: I need a nap x.x “it would completely kill the integrity of the story if one of the warlords were female" the way this guy is aggressively asserting that putting women in a story will mar the ‘pure storytelling’ without making any effort to understand how writing actually works on either a logical or artistic level is such a brazen show of utter, unapologetic cluelessness that im almost impressed These turds need to sit the fuck down SHUT THE FUCK UP ITS A FUCKING GAME THE LORE HAS LITTERALY ZERO HISTORIC FEMALE LED ORC CLANS SHUT THE FUCK UP THAT IS WHY IT WOULD RUIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE STORY BECAUSE THEY DONT FUCKING EXIST NOT BECAUSE WE CANT STAND THE THOUGHT OF A FEMALE CLAN BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A CANON FEMALE ORC CLAN Ah yes, but BECAUSE it is JUST a game and BECAUSE the lore is made up, things like this are possible. I don’t understand why a simple request for more female involvment in a, almost male lead dominated game, gets people so angry - like you don’t see how unfair that fact is? So, it’s ‘just a fucking game’ right? And it would “ruin the integrity of the story because they don’t fucking exist” Alot of shit doesn’t exist until Blizzard creates it. And that’s what people want, variety. And before anyone brings up “BUT IT WOULD RUIN THE LORE” dude, Blizz have tampered with the lore before to make shit make sense, it’s nothing new. It’s sad when you have to explain to somebody that Orc history isn’t real but that sexism is.Orcs don’t fucking exist. Sorry dude, but they don’t. They are not real. They are fictional. As is Azeroth. It’s all made up. I hate to tell you this, but it is.There are no Orc Clans lead by women warlords not “because of lore” but because this game was written by a bunch of dudes who grew up with the same old sexism most of us did and therefore didn’t/don’t think to include them. Not because “they don’t exist”. ORCS DO NOT EXIST.If you think running around as an undead werewolf riding a dragon and fighting Orcs in space is “realistic” , but female leaders are “unrealistic” then you are an asshat. Sorry you had to find out this way but there comes a time in every boy’s life when he learns that Orcs aren’t real but women *are*. So someone explain to me why any of this is sexist? At all. Its not. I’m all for equality. But you are trying to take modern day concepts, and apply them to a fictional setting BASED off of a quasi medieval setting. Are Orcs real. No. But What their lore is BASED off of, is real. You don’t see anyone bitching at the Hobbit movies (sorry to bring another fandom into this) for not having a “strong female character adventuring with the group” Why? Because in that period of time they didn’t exist! It’s not what women did! If you want to try and pick out something that feminism can actually fix, for fucks sake pick something relevant to this day and age. Stop trying to change a fictional video game based off of elements of a long gone period of time. And now we know why I don’t take majority of you serious. Thank you Curas for breaking it down in a non-pessimistic way like I would tend to do. I would add more but I feel good knowing he said more than needs to be said. people honestly have forgotten what the context of anything is. yes this is made by a bunch of men. yes they can be sexist in how they treat women. but actually complaining about there is no war-empress in a tribal culture that traditionally is run by a male in the role of war leader is stupid. picking a game as your method of fighting for feminism really isnt really the way to go. fight for equal pay, fight for something that effects everyone in the real world, not just equal representation in a video game where the men will ignore what you say completely. also orcs are rather "primal” the idea of females being equal in a very primal state of a race is rather absurd. -- source link
