Colt Police Positive owned by J. Edgar HooverJ. Edgar Hoover was a controversial figure in American History and law enforcement.  He was the founder of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935 and served as its first director until his death in 1977.  Under his leadership, the FBI became an efficient crime fighting ageny, instituting various new technologies and methods in law enforcement and investigation.  He was also known as an incredible bastard who trampled civil liberties and cared less about the guilt or innocence of those he investigated.  Throughout his career he was known for keeping secret files on politicians, harassing political dissenters, and collecting information through illegal means.  Regardless Hoover was an icon of American law and order and one of the most powerful men in the government.His weapons of choice was a 1935 Colt Police Positve .32 caliber pocket revolver.  A six shot revolver, it had a shortended barrel with a spurless hammer to prevent snagging.  He was also known to carry a pocket .38 detective revolver and a full sized .38 revolver. -- source link
