thefingerfuckingfemalefury:The only reason we think people are worse now than we did years and years ago is either because society has changed so that violent assholes being violent assholes is less socially acceptable than it once was or isn’t ignored like it once was and simply because with 24 hour news channels on television and the internet we hear more stories about people being violent assholes while in like the 1700′s you were hardly going to get a carrier pigeon delivering news of whatever horrifying and awful thing the guy two towns over did, whatever village he lived in just quietly got together and hanged the guy and that was it People have ALWAYS been awful No outside force is making people in todays society worse the only thing that’s different is that because we can communicate with each other better we’re just MORE AWARE of how awful people are because we hear about it more often -- source link
